Any family who may have missed Knabe’s this week at the pool can still purchase Team suits and other swim gear. Contact Knabe’s at 412-824-6540 to place your order. Let them know you are a Penguin Swimmer to receive the team pricing. Their hours are M,T,W,F: 10-6, Thur: 10-8 and Sat: 10-4. You can also their website at www.knabes.com.

To streamline the WHIPPED award eligibility, we are asking all of our swim families to track their swimmers progress towards the whipped award this year. Please use the form linked below to track the events and get it to the banquet chair or Coach Greg after Silver Champs.

Halloween treats will be served to the swimmers after the relay. There also will be a special gift to all of the relay participants! This is one of the swimmers favorite events of the year!

Individual pictures will start at 4:30 with team picture to follow at approximately 5:00. Relays to start right after the Team photo. Your swimmer(s) will be bringing home photo ordering envelopes. All swimmers and groups are encouraged to participate.

The meet information for several additional meets is now posted on our meet information page as well as adjustments to some of the due dates. Please check the Meet Information Page to view all of the changes (all revisions are highlighted in Yellow).

Many of our members are unaware that you can lookup all of a swimmers times on the USA website. Click Here to access the USA database.

Please note - The time change for Friday's practices have been moved:

Sr = 5pm - 7pm

Jr = 5pm - 6:30 pm

Dev = 5pm - 6pm

Pre-Dev = 5pm - 5:45pm

The PS Holiday Party will be this Friday, December 28, 2007 after your groups practice session. The party will be in the Coaches Corner room just outside the pool deck entrance where the Halloween Party was. Snacks and refreshments will be served. Please email Mrs. DelGarbino with your swimmers RSVP at jdelgarbino@sbcglobal.net.

We hope everyone is able to attend.

Thanks to three new Penguin Swimming Moms, Stephany Stewart, Dawn Kabetso and Jill Bogen these Moms will be creating a PS Newsletter for all of us to keep up to date with our swimmers and coaches achievements in and out of the pool. We urge all of our parents and swimmers to email these moms with information for the newsletter including photos, report cards, stories, artwork, poems or any words of wisdom and encouragement.

The final installment payment for Penguin Swimming is due January 7, 2008. I would prefer that you either mail or personally deliver the payment to me at the pool ( if you do mail the payment to me please let me know via Email so that I can confirm receipt).

Note - If you are paying for a Pre-Developmental or Developmental swimmer this final payment will cover you through the end of the Short course season which ends in March. An additional fee is required to continue into the Long course season (April - August).

The 8 & Under Champs were a success!!!!

Penguin Swimming would like to congratulate all of our swimmers who competed and swan at the meet. On behalf of all of our team we thank all of the volunteers (swimmers and parents) who helped make this meet a success. A special thanks to YSU's Matt Anderson and his swimmers who gave us great support.

Penguin High School Swimmers

Congratulations to our Penguin High School swimmers who have advanced through Sectionals, Districts and State Championships!! Personal Best times have been put up each week and many school records have fallen. Good Luck at States.

Brooke Bailey and Brian Stahl were selected to the 2008 Ohio/Lake Erie Quad Team. These Penguin Swimmers were selected to this team having the top four times in their respective events in the State of Ohio. The meet was held at the IUPUI Natatorium in Indianapolis, Indiana with top swimmers from Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana and Illinois. We have been asked by many Developmental families about continuing through the Long Course season. Coach Greg is hopeful that all of our swimmers, especially the developmental swimmers, continue training through the long course season as this is a crucial phase of training for every swimmer.

Short Course Practice Information

Please note, short course season practices have ended for anyone NOT swimming in Silver or Gold Championships. Once a swimmer has completed his / her championship meet, they are done with short course practices. Please see schedule for Long Course Info.

Season Opener Meet

Peguin Swimming is co-hosting the Season Opener meet with Youngstown Extreme Swimming. We are still in need for much help for the meet. This year the meet is only on Saturday with a morning and afternoon session. Workers are still needed to help for the meet, so we are asking all Penguin members to find some time to contribute.
